WBP Constable Education Qualification
- Passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- They must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali language. However, this provision will not apply to persons who are permanent residents of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
- For the applicant of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 will be applicable.

WBP Constable Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection process for Constable posts in the West Bengal Police will be conducted through a Written Examination, followed by a Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Interviews. These stages will be overseen by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB). Candidates must successfully complete each stage to be considered for the vacancies released for WB Police Constable.

WBP Constable Exam Pattern 2024
Applicants who are provisionally considered eligible will be summoned for the Written Examination, which will be OMR-based and in multiple-choice question (MCQ) pattern. The question paper will be available in two languages, Bengali and Nepali, and the duration of the Written Examination will be 1 hour. There will be 85 objective-type questions with multiple-choice answers (four choices), each carrying 01 (one) mark. For each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of ¼th of the total marks allocated to the question. The marks obtained in the Written Examination will be considered in preparing the merit list for selection. The Board will have the discretion to set qualifying marks in the Written Examination to shortlist candidates for the next stage of selection, which is the Physical Measurement Test (PMT).

WB Police Constable Physical Measurement Test
Qualified candidates in the written examination will be summoned to participate in the physical measurement test (PMT). The PMT will assess the physical standards of the candidates, including height, weight, and chest (for male candidates). The PMT is qualifying in nature, and no marks will be awarded for the PMT exam.

WBP Constable Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates who qualify for PMT will be allowed to take part in the physical efficiency test. PMT will be done through their performances as per the following parameters. WB Police Constable Salary 2024
Candidates who successfully clear all stages of the WB Police Constable Recruitment exam and are appointed for the constable post will be offered a monthly salary of Rs. 23,700.
